My name is JH Phrydas, and I'm a poet, editor, and independent scholar. I studied literature at UC Berkeley and poetry at Naropa University, where I explored the ways in which language and writing intersect with queerness and the body. I have published numerous essays on and offline, and my first book of poetry, Levitations, was published in 2015 by Timeless, Infinite Light.
Over the past five years, I have worked as a teacher, writer, editor, and producer for universities, poetry magazines, startups, and nonprofits. My interests lie in exploring queerness, history, and art as routes towards new types of world-building. I am currently working on a biography of Mr. David Glamamore: underground fashion designer, drag queen, and queer icon. I split my time between Koreatown/LA and SOMA/SF.
